Planting Trees

Masbiekers Valley, also known as Masbiekers Kloof, is a tract of municipal land in Swellendam that is overrun by alien invasive vegetation (for now).

Since 2016 when Andrew Hofmeyr started the project under the local municipality’s Adopt a Spot Program we’ve planted over 500 indigenous and locally indigenous trees!

Masbiekers Valley Project (MVP) has planted a variety of indigenous trees – some native to South Africa in general and some indigenous to the Swellendam area specifically.

Thus far the trees have been donated to the project by generous local individuals and the Swellendam Municipality.

Every tree counts so thank you to everyone who has sponsored or donated a tree to MVP!
